Echo houses

We offer second phase housing to youth in need in Tableview, Ysterplaat, Stellenbosch & Paarl.

Tableview house

We started our first Echo Cape Town house in Table View in December 2013. Despite having very little money and no leaders to move in, we knew that this was something  we had to do. We signed our first lease agreement and two people moved in on the 1st of December 2013.

In December 2018 we opened our second Echo house in Table View. At the moment the two houses can accommodate up to  17 people.

A big part of the community is doing things together - like playing soccer and eating. Every Thursday evening the Table View and Ysterplaat houses get together to enjoy dinner. We also encourage the broader community to join us!

Ysterplaat house

The Ysterplaat house welcomed its first residents in May 2018. This is a unique house as it is situated on the stage of a church building in Brooklyn, Cape town. The Ysterplaat house eat together with the Tableview house every Thursday evening. For more information contact: Scherlize van der Merwe: scherlize@isibindi.org.za

Stellenbosch house

In the beginning of 2016, we started our first Echo house in Stellenbsoch. We are currently 8 people living together as a family.

A big part of our community is eating together. We would like to invite anyone to join us!

Contact Irenee at Irenee@moederkerk.co.za if you would like to find out more about the home in Stellenbosch.

Paarl house

May 2021 we opened the house in Paarl. The Paarl community enjoys dinner together every Thursday evening.

“All around you, people will be tiptoeing through life, just to arrive at death safely. But dear children, do not tiptoe. Run, hop, skip, or dance, just don't tiptoe.”
